FAMILIJNA GROUP is a production company in the baking industry, a family-owned bakery that treats its customers like family members. Every baked product from their bakery is made with the utmost care and concern for quality, so that each one is accompanied by homemade character and delicious taste. The bakers working at the company have been creating a tradition of baking bread for nearly a century and have constantly developed their skills to create products based on old Polish recipes and to keep up with the gastronomic trends of the modern world. The company also offers a wide range of customized products for its customers, from simple bread to yogurt croissants. The company employs more than 500 people and has a very extensive network of its own stores. In this case study, we will discuss the Head of IT recruitment process.
Challenge
Familijna Group contacted Fast Forward Solutions in 2020. Familijna's management, as a result of rapid growth, putting up a new headquarters and expanding its production facility, needed help finding a Head of IT to join its business management team in Poland. The client called us on the recommendation of another of our satisfied clients.
The challenge was to manage the IT team in Poland and implement a suitable ERP system for the Familijna Group, which involved excellent knowledge of ERP implementations for potential candidates. Also challenging was the location of the HQ 70 km from Wroclaw, which severely limited the pool of potential candidates, working 100% remotely was not an option.
Action strategy and recruitment process
We started our work with:
Prepare a profile of the ideal candidate-who would combine competence in IT department management with implementation of advanced ERP systems
Develop a sourcing strategy
Mapping the local market of manufacturing companies that could have experienced IT managers
Develop and implement a communication strategy with candidates
Our sourcing strategy was based on reaching out to candidates using the Direct Search methodology identified using the LinkedIn Professional Recruiter tool, and searching for them in our unique candidate database in the IT-Manager category created with the most modern recruiting tools available on the market today. The challenge was to reach and convince potential candidates to change jobs, who in the highly competitive IT market know their value and are not willing to make a quick decision to change jobs.
Effects
Within 21 days, we delivered the 9 best candidates from manufacturing companies in the Lower Silesia province without much distance to travel to the Familijna office. As sometimes happens on the IT market, the first job offer to the best candidate turned out to be ineffective and the process had to be repeated from scratch - however, we decided to maintain a dialogue with the ideal candidate and, after 3 weeks of continuous negotiations, we managed to arrange another meeting with the Management Board and reach an agreement, which resulted in signing a full-time contract. This is how we ended another Head of IT recruitment successfully.
