Our client (we can't disclose the name due to a signed NDA) is a renowned IT company specializing in providing innovative IT solutions to clients in various sectors, including industry, trade, finance and services. The company has been gaining recognition over the years as an expert in implementing and integrating IT systems and providing cloud-based solutions. Challenge
The client needed an experienced leader to take on the position of Head of Software House. This person was to be responsible for managing a team of developers, developing software development strategies and building lasting relationships with clients. The company was looking for a candidate with outstanding technical skills, leadership abilities and excellent communication skills.
Action strategy and recruitment process
FFS met with the client's Board of Directors and HR Department to get a thorough understanding of the challenges facing the company, its future manager, and to learn more about the organizational culture. Being after the conversation with both the Board of Directors and the head of HR, we knew who we were looking for. The requirements were very specific: an experienced manager, a leader in the area of customer software development and preferably to have been a developer in the past.
How we implemented the project:
Preparing the profile of the ideal candidate
Prepare a mapped list of Software House companies that could have experienced Software Development managers
Develop a sourcing strategy
Develop and implement a communication strategy with candidates
Our sourcing strategy was based on reaching out to candidates using the Direct Search methodology identified through the Linkedin Professional Recruiter tool, and searching them in our unique candidate database in the Engineering Manager category created through the most modern recruitment tools available on the market today. We then prepared a recruitment campaign with specific parameters and a sequence of emails. The challenge was to reach candidates who are thinking about a job change and at the same time have UNIQUE competence in managing scrum teams and are comfortable in supporting sales with customers in foreign markets. During the bidding process, there was a crisis of sorts as our idal candidate raised his financial expectations, which was not met with a positive response from the Board. We had to intensify our work to find a similar candidate who would take up the Client's challenge.
Effects
Over a period of 4 weeks, we delivered 7 profiles that we believed best matched our client's requirements and expectations for the development of the Software House department. The client had the opportunity to meet with each candidate we presented, and chose the person for whom working in the new role was the next step in their career, allowing them to build on their managerial experience and achieve their professional goals.
This successful candidate proved to be an excellent choice, bringing a fresh perspective and innovative approach to the development of our client's Software House department.
